Tonight on Rockin' Remnants New Years Eve it's "JR's Jukebox"; all 45 rpm vinyl! I started doing this when VBR was on Mitchell St. and I did the last show of the year. I had to stop when our turntables became unreliable, but at our new Buffalo St. location there are 2 hearty Technics 1200's, so on with my tradition. All the selections tonight are original 45 versions, some of which are available on CD compilations and reissues, and the ones marked with an asterisk (*) are exclusive to the 7" format. As I explained at the top of the show, on the old push button jukeboxes, there was a letter and number combination to play a song, and all the "A" sides were odd numbers, and the flip sides, or the "B" sides were even numbers. So, sometimes, especially later in the evening, you played a song you didn't mean to; not that they were all bad, but... we'll hear a few "B" sides tonight, including an oddity from Terry Jacks. I hope to post images of all the songs I played, and I will also indicate the year and the highest chart position. This week, JS returns with a more "conventional" show with 1970 in the spotlight and the Birthday Calendar at 7:00, and perhaps for 2017, a new giveaway... Thanks again to our sponsor Island Health & Fitness!

Nice Blog post, JR - I know the "stronger than dirt" difference on Touch Me, and I know that the Fancy 45 is a different take from LP/CD versions, but I don't know about Evil Woman. What's the scoop?
