Rock and Roll Trivia
Clue 1: This singer/songwriter and recording industry
pioneer was raised in Chicago and scored 43 charting Pop records over a 10-year
span.
Clue 2: Inducted into the R ‘n’ R Hall of Fame in
1986, his compositions have been covered by artists including The Animals, Cat Stevens
and Otis Redding.
Clue 3: He was something of a teen idol on the Gospel
Music circuit in the 1950s, and thousands turned out to bid him farewell after
his suspicious shooting death at the age of 33 by a Los Angeles motel clerk.
