This Guy's in Love With You - Herb Alpert (1968 - #1: before he appeared on a TV special, Alpert, known for his trumpet work, approached Burt Bacharach to ask if he had any unrecorded songs laying around. Burt pulled "This Guy's" out of a drawer and Alpert sang the song on TV. So many viewers called in that they recorded and released it. It spent 4 weeks at #1)
