That Where I Went Wrong - The Poppy Family featuring Susan Jacks (#29 - 1970:  a hit for the group out of Vancouver, B.C., a song that I first heard on Rockin' Remnants many years ago)

Walk Away Renee - Left Banke (#5 - 1966:  #220 on the Rolling Stone list of the 500 Greatest Songs of all time.  A song that was termed "baroque rock".)

Don't Blame It On Me - The Association (1966 - flip side of the #1 smash "Cherish") 

Here Comes My Baby - The Tremeloes (#13 - 1967:  song written by Cat Stevens; A British band, the Tremeloes were founded in 1958 and are still active.  And they have the distinction of beating out the Beatles in 1962 when Decca records was looking for a new group.)

Knight in Rusty Armour - Peter & Gordon (#15 - 1967: a whimsical hit by the British duo) 

Sylvia's Mother - Dr. Hook and the Medicine Show (#5 - 1972: band out of New Jersey that ultimately was on the cover of Rolling Stone) 

Time Won't Let Me - The Outsiders (#5 - 1966:  Sonny Geraci was the lead singer for this band out of Cleveland; song was a million-seller.)

Just Dropped In (to See What Condition My Condition Was In) - The First Edition (#5 - 1968:  before Kenny Rogers got top billing over the band.)

(Last Night) I Didn't Get to Sleep at All - The 5th Dimension (#8 - 1972: the group is backed up by the famed session musicians The Wrecking Crew.  A song the Carpenters turned down because of its reference to sleeping pills.)

Don't Let Me Down - The Beatles (#35 - 1969: the flip side of "Get Back", song was featured as part of the rooftop concert in the movie "Let It Be" but was not on the LP.  Can be found on Past Masters Volume 2.)

Harper Valley P.T.A. - Jeannie C. Riley (#1 - 1968: written by Tom T. Hall, a country crossover that was the first by a female artist to top both the country and pop charts.  The song would spawn a movie and a TV series.)

A Place Nobody Can Find - Sam & Dave (uncharted - 1965: written by David Porter, who also wrote "Soul Man" and "Hold On, I'm Coming")

Ball of Confusion (That's What the World Is Today) - The Temptations (#3 - 1970:  a song that still matters in 2016)

Fakin' It - Simon & Garfunkel (#23 - 1967: a track off of the classic "Bookends" LP)

Loves Me Like a Rock - Paul Simon (#2 - 1973: Simon is backed by the gospel group The Dixie Hummingbirds on this single which spent 14 weeks in the Top 40.)

Does Anybody Really Know What Time It Is? - Chicago (#7 - 1970:  single edit of the song written by Robert Lamm, who also takes lead vocals.  Although it was off their first LP, the song was not released as a single until after "Make Me Smile" and "25 or 6 to 4" became hits.)

Raunchy - Bill Justis (#2 - 1957: song that 14-year-old George Harrison played to get into John Lennon's band, the Quarrymen)

Barefootin' - Robert Parker (#7 - 1966: a million seller for the R&B artist out of New Orleans)

Here Comes the Night - Them (#24 - 1965: although Billy Harrison was a founder of the group, much of the instrumentation for Them was done by session musicians)

This Precious Time - Barry McGuire (unreleased - 1965:  McGuire is backed by the Mamas and Papas on this LP title track) 

Goodbye to Love - the Carpenters (#7 - 1972: co-written by Richard, one of the first, if not the first, power ballads to have a fuzz guitar solo.)

*Moondance - Van Morrison (1970: title track from 1970 LP never released as a single but regarded as one of Van's classics.  A listener request because of the brilliant moon out which prompted an ad-lib moon song set thanks to the vast WVBR archives.)

Moonshadow -  Cat Stevens (#30 - 1971:  now known as Yusuf Islam, he considers this his favorite of his old songs)

Mr. Moonlight - The Beatles (unreleased 1964:  long a cover from their live shows, the recorded this track for the LP Beatles For Sale in the UK and Beatles '65 here in the States)

Everyone's Gone to the Moon - Jonathan King (#17 - 1965:  written & sung by King who would go on to greater fame as a producer for groups like Genesis, 10cc, and the Bay City Rollers)
