This is Zep's only Top 10 Hot 100 single, peaking at #4
on 1/31/1970. There were two different commercial 45
lengths, 5:35 and 3:15, both in mono. Tonight we
present the short version, which edits out the "ape call"
section in the middle of the long version and LP version,
which features Robert Plant's "ape call" vocals, and
some wild Jimmy Page guitar effects. A scratchy,
Rockin' Remnants exclusive!

1984 - Spirit - BB Hot 100 #85. Spirit sold a lot more LP's than 45's in their heyday, and certainly got more airplay on FM than AM. A great band, nonetheless.

Oh Well - Pt. 1 - Fleetwood Mac - BB Hot 100 #72. The Hot 100 chart debut for The Mac, with this Peter Green ditty. This peaked at #55, probably played on some courageous AM stations back in the day.

Love Grows (Where My Rosemary Goes) - Edison Lighthouse - BB Hot 100 #68. One of many British studio bands to feature the vocal talent of Tony Burrows; others include The Brotherhood Of Man, First Class, The Pipkins and White Plains)
The Bells - The Originals - BB Hot 100 #51. This group was a Marvin Gaye production for Motown's Soul Records.
New World Coming - Mama Cass - BB Hot 100 #44. Off the pen of Barry Mann and Cynthia Weil, this just missed the Top 40, peaking at #42.

"Dancing In The City" - Marshall Hain, 1978. I found this in one of my many music research books next to "Marshall Tucker", and I was intrigued. After a little digging, I discovered this was a British duo comprised of Julian Marshall on the keys and Kit Hain on the vocals. Wow, this is one catchy pop tune! "Seven Bridges Road" - Iain Matthews, 1973. The Eagles based their live version on this version, which also features producer Mike Nesmith on the a cappella intro.
